Sediq Shubab is an Afghan singer, born in Panjsher, Afghanistan. He continues his music career in exile from Frankfurt, Germany. His music has recently reached the people in and outside Afghanistan. Sediq sings traditional Afghan folk songs in Pashto and Dari.

Mr Nangarharay fled the Taliban 10 years ago and settled in London. The 28-year-old says that he too is a child of war and understands exactly how his countrymen feel. Naghma was born as Shaperai (Fairy) on January 1, 1956 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. As a young girl, she developed an interest in music. Her early songs were based on Kandahari songs, most of which were folkloric in nature but were essential in training the novice. In 2006, Naghma’s new single album ‘Mohabbat’ was released. This was the first time she had sang a pop song. Also in that year, Naghma returned to Afghanistan to give a round of concerts in various cities with Naim Popal.

Arash Howaida (born in 1981 in Afghanistan - Kohistan district) is one of the modern Hip Hop and Pop Afghan artists and composers. Arash currently resides in Hamburg, Germany and he is the son of popular Afghan artist Zahir Howaida. Known for his hit songs 'Laila' (in Dari, German and Arabic) and 'Allah Allah', Arash is best known for his ability to successfully introduce and combine hip hop and dance beats into music. His compositions and music is influence from western musics. Beside songs in his mother-tongue, he has also sang songs in Arabic and Hindi.

Ahmad Zahir was Afghanistan's biggest pop singer. Even during the country's political troubles his voice the salve to a nation, melting as many hearts as Elvis did in his day. Years after his death his fan-base is still intact despite being scattered around the globe.
